10U2

One of the few bands to have kept the same lineup throughout their career, U2's influence on popular music and live stadium shows are peerless.  Again, they are one of those bands that mean different things to different people.  Fans who pour over Achtung Baby and The Joshua Tree might never give Pop another glance.  I've been a reasonably big fan of all their albums and there's normally some merit in each, even if they don't surface straight away...

10TalkingHeads

Talking Heads are an acquired taste...if you don't care for David Byrne's unusual voice and distinctive singing style, then you will struggle to like the band's music. I think my first memory of Talking Heads was the movie Down And Out In Beverly Hills, which used their hit Once In A Lifetime in the opening credits.  I also remember buying their 1985 album Little Creatures on cassette because it had And She Was on it.

10SplitEnz

The wonderful Finn brothers.  They've given us so much music between them.  I remember watching Split Enz film clips on Countdown as a young boy, in particular I Got You and One Step Ahead.  Remembered for their outlandish hair styles and costumes, they would have been nothing without the great music to back up their theatrics.   I am very thankful for their reunion tour of 2006; it was great seeing them relive their glory days.
